2023-07-12 -- Unionville

Toronto, a vibrant metropolis nestled in Ontario, Canada, is home to over 6.2 million people as of 2021. This diverse city has experienced significant population growth in recent decades, with over half of its residents either foreign-born or children of immigrants.

Toronto's multicultural tapestry is one of its defining characteristics. In the last census, over 47% of the population was foreign-born, reflecting the city's welcoming attitude towards immigrants from all over the world. This diversity has enriched Toronto's culture, cuisine, and overall vibrancy.

It's fascinating how Toronto, a bustling metropolis, can still harbor pockets of tranquility and charm. Unionville, with its quaint streets and historic buildings, offers a glimpse into a different era. It's a testament to the city's diverse character and its ability to preserve its past while embracing the future.

The main street comes alive on weekends and holidays with various activities. The street is closed to traffic, making way for vendors selling handmade goods and artists performing on the street. We particularly loved the ice cream shops!

Hopefully, Unionville and other historic neighborhoods in the Greater Toronto Area will continue to preserve their charm and character for generations to come.

Last time we have been in the area, I noticed a lot has changed after lots of city improvements around Markham. I hope Unionville keep its authenticity for everyone to enjoy…Parissa

Spending part of my childhood in Unionville was truly something I won't be able to forget, from the ice cream, to all the little shops and the walkway, all of it has such a nostalgic feel to it.
